 Flood Warning  Statement as of 4:31 PM CST on November 20, 2009


the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Cibolo creek near Falls City.
* From this evening to Saturday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 4:15 PM Friday the stage was 16.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise to near 17.1
feet by after midnight tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage by
after midnight tomorrow.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... minor lowland flooding of crop and pastureland damages
irrigation pumps and any equipment near The Channel. Livestock are cut off in
low areas.

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued an

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Atascosa County...
west central Karnes County...
southwestern Wilson County...

* until 900 PM CST.

* At 556 PM CST... National Weather Service Doppler radar showed an
area of light to moderate rain moving east at 25 mph across
Atascosa County into eastern Wilson and Karnes counties. Rainfall
amounts will average less than one half inch with this rain... but
will exacerbate ongoing flooding issues. Low lying areas...
secondary roads... small streams and creeks will continue to flood
as this rain runs off

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When water covers the Road... turn around don't drown. The life you
save may be your own.
